embracing small rituals that make sustainability visible and ongoing.

Sustainability at Wyldwood Collective

At Wyldwood Collective, sustainability is woven into the way we work, build, and create. As a florist and creative collective, we believe environmental responsibility and beauty can exist side by side — thoughtfully, imperfectly, and with intention.

Waste Reduction & Circular Practices

We actively reduce waste through simple, consistent systems. All soft plastics used in-store and behind the scenes are collected and recycled through approved soft-plastic recycling programs. Organic waste — including flower offcuts, foliage, and natural materials — is separated and placed into organic waste bins, where it’s diverted from landfill and turned into compost. What’s left over feeds what comes next.

The Rubber Band Ball (Small Things, Big Impact)

Every bouquet tells a story, right down to the rubber that held stems on the way to us. Instead of discarding them, we save every rubber band and add it to our ever-growing rubber band ball — a quiet, slightly obsessive ritual that reminds us how small choices add up.
How big can it get? We don’t know yet. But each layer is a record of flowers sold, waste avoided, and habits slowly shifting. It’s sustainability made visible — playful, imperfect, and ongoing.

A Low-Waste Fit-Out Built to Last

Our Lavender Bay space was designed with reuse at its core. The Wyldwood Collective fit-out was completed using repurposed materials and salvaged furniture wherever possible. By working with what already existed, we reduced construction waste and avoided unnecessary new production. The result is a space that feels lived-in, layered, and grounded — not polished, but purposeful.

A Considered Florist, Rooted in Place

As a Sydney florist focused on seasonal blooms and mindful practices, we’re committed to continuous improvement. Sustainability isn’t a destination — it’s a process of noticing, adjusting, and choosing better where we can. From composting organic waste to rethinking materials and celebrating reuse, we aim to tread lightly while creating meaningful, lasting work.

Wyldwood Collective exists to honour nature, creativity, and community — and to do so with care.
